Founder and Managing Partner of GrantMatch (formerly Fairtax), founded in 1994, Dan helps companies access funding through grants & incentives, indirect sales tax, and SR&ED ITCs. He oversees the operations of the company and provides quality assurance on every large file client interaction to ensure no viable opportunity is left behind so the client receives maximum funding.
Mike, Managing Partner, founded Onager Solutions in 2010, growing the government incentives firm for 5 years until being acquired by Fairtax (now GrantMatch). Mike gained a grant reviewer’s perspective after being appointed to a grant review team board by the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport, was named Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2013, and has received several Innovation Awards.
Dieter is a results-driven executive with over 25 years of experience in government funding, including tax credits and grants and incentives. Dieter leverages GrantMatch’s AI-captured funding data to consult with Fortune 500 companies on a proactive basis as a skilled government funding strategist. His skill set spans all operational areas with a core focus on maximizing clients’ recovery strategies across a variety of programs.
Through her academic background in International Finance and Accounting, Christine developed excellent analytical and report-writing skills, as well as a deep understanding of company financial statements. Graduate of the University of Toronto with a B. Comm Specialist, major in Economics and Minors in French and Spanish, Christine worked in audit compliance for several years at TD Canada Trust.
As Marketing & Communications Manager, Gibson maintains and innovates brand identity across platforms, strategically developing marketing campaigns and corporate communication standards that fuel our client acquisition funnel. Gibson completed an Honours Communications Studies Degree at Wilfrid Laurier University, accompanied by an Entrepreneurship Core specialization.
Peter is a seasoned professional with over 10 years of experience in sales and business development. His exceptional communication skills, strong work ethic, and keen attention to detail allow him to play an integral part within the GrantMatch team.
Luis is an awarded senior professional with 25+ years of international experience leading strategic initiatives in the areas of communications, public relations, and external affairs. He is a multilingual consummate contract negotiator recognized among Fortune-500 companies. He possesses an MBA, a MHRM, a PGDCSR from the Isabel I University and an Osgoode Hall Law School Certificate in Negotiation.
Michele is a high energy, passionate team player with a wealth of experience. She previously worked in Sales Tax Recovery and has over 20 years of business experience in sales and leadership. She holds an Honours Business Administration Diploma from Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from York University.
Graduating in 2015 with a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Calgary, Lola has excelled in writing and communication courses with a focus on critical analysis. Lola also brings with her over 15 years of experience in customer service and has prioritized high quality standards through her work in small business management for the last 5 years.
Andrew obtained an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration degree and HBA in Financial Mathematics degree from Wilfrid Laurier University. His diverse academic background has provided him with attributes that are key to developing the analytical and client management skills necessary to effectively communicate and leverage his experience to secure government funding for GrantMatch’s clients.
Rebecca has over 10 years of experience as a marketing specialist in consumer and B2B marketing. Her extensive background and knowledge include specialties in communication planning and implementation, grant writing and CRM management. Rebecca has earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree and Degree in Business Administration and Management from Ryerson University.
Nick holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Economics from Wilfrid Laurier University. A recent addition to our team, he is eager to build on his experience as a Financial Advisor and Investment Representative. Nick has an analytical mind that enables him to approach complex tasks strategically and communicate solutions effectively.
As our specialist in Atlantic Canadian funding programs, Peter recently opened the Atlantic regional office for GrantMatch in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Peter has a Bachelor of Commerce from Saint Mary’s University, Halifax, with a major in Global Business Management and minors in German and French.
Allison LaSorda holds an Honours BA from the University of Toronto, an MA from the University of New Brunswick, and an MFA from the University of Guelph. A National Magazine Award-nominated writer, she has worked for postsecondary institutions and academic and literary publishers for nearly ten years.
Ralph received a B. Comm. Honours from the University of Manitoba. Ralph has held senior accounting positions in a range of industries, attained the CMA designation, and was the Gold Medal recipient for Manitoba on the comprehensive final. Ralph’s experience in information technology has been invaluable in implementing the data analysis techniques GrantMatch employs on large data populations.
Chelsey, a previous Sr. Funding Analyst of four years, gained a thorough understanding of the process involved in securing funding approvals for our clients, from building strong relationships, to researching project components, writing applications, and everything in between. She now utilizes that breadth of knowledge to manage special projects in support of GrantMatch’s executive team, as well as our Funding Specialists and Analysts.
Corey’s passion for entrepreneurship led him to launch two small businesses and pursue an honours degree in Business Administration and a diploma in Small Business Management/Entrepreneurship at the University of Guelph-Humber. As president of the University’s Entrepreneur’s Society, Corey mentored fellow students in business planning and applying for start-up funding opportunities. He now uses his experience to ensure clients achieve maximum funding.
Ken’s background in market research was developed over a 30-year career in which he advised national and multi-national businesses on customer service, process design, and communications. He is the recipient of Canada’s highest market research award – the Pinnacle Award from the Market Research Intelligence Association – for work he did with Plan Canada. A graduate of Carleton University, Ken applies his vast knowledge of industries to develop strong funding applications.
Roberto has over 30 years of experience in policy and management positions in the Ontario Government including at the Financial Services Commission of Ontario, the Ministry of Finance, and Cabinet Office. As a Funding Analyst, he brings his strong research and analytical skills and extensive experience in collaborating with individuals to assist clients navigate through the latest information in grant programs and develop effective funding strategies.
Lynda has a strong background in organizational development and extensive knowledge of proposal writing. Her in-depth experience with FedDev Ontario and the Eastern Ontario Development Program provides clients with invaluable insight into securing government funding within Southern and Eastern Ontario. Her proven track record reflects her ability to successfully complete a wide range of funding applications on behalf of our clients.
Martin has more than 14 years of experience in developing compelling and persuasive funding applications for a wide range of charitable/non-profit and business clients. He has helped clients successfully secure more than $ 20M in funding. Martin has a BA in Political Science from the University of Toronto and a MA in Political Science from Wilfrid Laurier University. As a Senior Funding Specialist, he is committed to both service excellence and to being a dynamic partner in our clients’ funding success.
Fahim is a Software Developer with a passion for coding and cyber security. With a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering from Lakehead University, Fahim uses his background and knowledge of software development to support the continuous evolution of GrantMatch's scalable platform, ensuring we can serve our clients well.
Lisa’s role as a Research Analyst is a very diverse one, making it a perfect fit for her entrepreneurial spirit. Lisa studied business at Ryerson University and Sheridan College. Aside from her experience as an entrepreneur, Lisa was previously a Production and Raw Material Planner. Her client-focused approach helps her to ensure that customer satisfaction is always at the forefront.
With a Bachelor of Technology in Electronics and Computer Engineering and experience supporting business growth as a Data Engineer/Scientist, Abdul brings an invaluable skillset to the GrantMatch team. He continually stays abreast of the latest advancements in Data Science and Data Engineering technology, allowing GrantMatch to leverage massive data sets through developments in machine learning, algorithm design, and data mining techniques.
Carly earned a Joint Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Ottawa, specializing in History and Political Science. Throughout her degree she found a passion for writing and research, which she is now pursuing as our newest member of the Data team.
Kaitlyn has a Master's of Library and Information Science from Western University with a focus on information organization, metadata, and access. With 15 years of customer service experience and time spent among not-for-profits, her passion for information makes her a valuable addition to the GrantMatch data team.
